Track investigative tasks
Record next steps with priorities and due dates, then keep their status up to date.
Turn an open question into a task
Tasks records work you need to do for a case. It is a checklist and status workflow; adding a task does not automatically run a new investigation. The Tasks tab is disabled when your plan does not include the task manager.
- Open the case and select Tasks.
- Use the empty-state create action or Add Task to open Create Task.
- Enter a Title. Optionally add a Description with the question, source reference, or expected result.
- Choose High, Medium, or Low Priority and, if needed, a Due Date. New tasks cannot select a date before today.
- Select Create Task. The task appears in the case’s list.
Title: ‘Compare the published addresses’. Description: ‘Review the two evidence records cited in the last answer and record whether the dates explain the difference.’ Set a due date that matches your review schedule.
Maintain status as work progresses
The task list separates incomplete and completed work. Incomplete tasks are ordered by priority, then due date, with earlier deadlines first. Counters show pending, in progress, done, and overdue totals.
Use a task’s edit action to change its details and status, then save the changes. The completion control switches a task between completed and pending. Completed work moves into the Completed section; toggling it again returns it to pending.
When more than one incomplete task exists, Complete All marks the incomplete tasks as completed. Use it only after checking the work represented by the full incomplete list. Delete removes a task you no longer need; it does not mark the work as completed.
Keep tasks tied to evidence
When a task requires new research, submit the question in the case chat or use the relevant tool. Review that result and save the useful evidence or note before marking the task done. This keeps a completed checkbox from standing in for the actual result.
Tasks can be included in a case PDF by selecting the Tasks report section. Case deadlines and task due dates are separate: changing a task does not change the case metadata used by the dashboard’s case filters. No recurring execution or reminder-delivery control is part of this task list.
