Read evidence and check sources
Trace an answer to retained evidence, inspect provenance, and save useful records.
Open a citation from an answer
An assistant answer can contain links labelled Evidence 1, Evidence 2, and so on. Each label opens a Nexus evidence record scoped to its case and investigation run. The numbering restarts for each answer; repeated references within one answer use the same label.
Source icons below an answer open public source URLs in a new tab when those URLs are available. A public source link and a Nexus evidence link are different destinations: the first opens the source website, while the second shows the retained record’s details inside Nexus.
- Open the Evidence link supporting the statement you want to check.
- In Evidence details, review Evidence ID, Nexus category, Retrieved, Source name, Source type, and Source reference. Read the Evidence description if present.
- Inspect Public identifiers and the Public source link when supplied. A record without a public result URL explicitly says so.
- Select Back to case to return to the case associated with that evidence.
Retain a record for your analysis
Use Add to findings on the evidence page to save the record to that case’s Findings. Use Add to graph when the evidence contains entities that you want to organize visually. The graph dialog lets you choose a graph destination; it does not mean that a relationship has been independently proven.
For an assistant’s written synthesis, use Save to Notes in the chat instead. This saves the answer as an AI-generated note after note encryption is set up or unlocked. Keep source statements and your own interpretation distinguishable when writing the final account.
If an answer states that an organization publishes a particular contact address, open the cited evidence, inspect its source and retrieval time, then visit the public source if available. Record a discrepancy in your notes rather than assuming the current webpage still matches the retained observation.
