Your first investigation
Create a case, ask a focused question, review its sources, and keep useful results.
Before you start
Sign in to Nexus using Access Nexus. If you are new, complete registration, email activation, and the identity provider’s first sign-in steps before starting. Choose a Pro or Agency subscription when prompted. Available tools and workspace features depend on your plan.
Choose one question and the best identifier you already have: a domain, company name with country, email address, phone number, or public profile URL. Include enough context to distinguish the subject from similarly named people or organizations. Results depend on the sources available for that request.
Create and investigate
- On Dashboard, select New case file. Enter a meaningful Case Name and optionally a Case Description, case officer, external reference, deadline, priority, and classification. Select Create case file.
- Check the case title above the conversation. This is the case that will hold your chat, documents, and saved findings.
- Enter your question in Type your intelligence query… and select Send message, or press Enter. Use Shift+Enter when you want a new line without sending.
- Read the progress message while Nexus works. If the reply asks you to clarify a target or scope, answer in the same case conversation.
- Review the answer and open its Evidence links or public source icons. Check which source supports each important statement before using it in your own work.
- Where offered, use Add to findings to retain an evidence record, or Save to Notes to keep an assistant answer in encrypted case notes. These actions serve different purposes; choose the one that fits your record.
For an organization you are authorized to research: ‘Review the public web presence of Example Research Ltd in Switzerland. Focus on its official website and published corporate contact information, and identify any uncertain matches.’ Replace the example name with your actual subject.
Continue from the result
Ask a specific follow-up in the same conversation, such as which source supports an address. Reopen the case from the case drawer when you return. The Findings, Tasks, Notes, and Custody areas organize different parts of the case; disabled controls show features or setup that are unavailable for the current case or plan.
If a submission reports that acceptance could not be confirmed, refresh the case before retrying. A progress message is not a completed result. For your first run, use one clear question so that you can inspect the answer and decide what to investigate next.
