BLUF situation brief
Produce a concise bottom-line-up-front assessment from public evidence.
When to use it
Use this when you need a concise situation assessment with the conclusion first. BLUF means bottom line up front. Name the subject and give a bounded recent period, such as three months, so the brief has a clear time scope.
Before you start
Available on Pro and Agency. Fill every required field. Example values below illustrate the form; replace them with your intended subject.
Use a quantity of days, weeks, months, or years. Phrases such as “three months” are supported; an arbitrary date range is not the Time window format.

Read the results
Read the bottom line together with the established facts, assessment, and limitations. Check whether each important conclusion has supporting public evidence and whether older context is being distinguished from developments inside your time window. A concise answer may omit detail; follow its citations before using an assessment as an established fact.
