Credits and usage history

Read your balance, understand reserved and consumed credits, and inspect individual charges.

Review your account usage

The summary separates Investigations, Credits Used, Credits Released, and Credits Refunded. Investigation counts describe operations in the selected summary period, rather than the number of case files you have created. Usage History lists settled operations; an investigation still running may not appear there yet.

  1. Select Usage in the dashboard drawer or navigation rail to open Credit Usage.
  2. Read Credit Balance for your account's current displayed balance. The grant and purchase totals beneath it describe credit sources; they are not a second spendable balance.
  3. Choose Daily (30d), Weekly (12w), or Monthly (12m) to change the Summary and Usage Over Time chart.
  4. Review Usage History. Select a row for Usage Detail, or Load more to view older entries.

Understand the credit fields

FieldHow to read it
Reserved creditsCredits set aside for an operation while its final usage is determined.
Credits consumed / Credits UsedCredits recorded as used for that operation.
Credits releasedUnused credits returned from a reservation.
Credits refundedCredits recorded as returned through a refund.
Example
Illustrative accounting example: an operation reserves 12 credits, consumes 8, and releases 4. The reservation is not a separate 12-credit charge on top of the 8 consumed. These numbers illustrate the fields; they are not a price estimate for a particular search.

Inspect an individual operation

Usage History shows a date, query or operation summary, credits, type, and status. Completed, Partial, Released, and Refunded describe different accounting outcomes. Open the row to see the reservation ID, tier, status, credit amounts, and creation time. Where available, Billing Units lists the contributing operations and Deliveries lists recorded outputs.

A missing result, browser interruption, or failed-looking response does not by itself establish that every credit will be refunded. Check the consumed, released, and refunded fields after the operation settles. For a disputed charge, choose Get support on this investigation; the prepared email includes its reservation ID.

Check grants and purchases

Credit Sources separates Credit Grants from Credit Purchases. Grants show Credits, Granted, and Expires; purchases show Credits, Amount, and Purchased. Read the dates recorded for each grant instead of assuming every credit source has the same expiry rule.

Check your current plan and checkout terms for the rollover and expiry conditions of the credits you are buying. Review individual credit-source records when checking how a purchase or plan change affects your balance.
